7. And she brought forth her first-born son,

and wrapped him in swaddling cloths,

and laid him in a manger;

because there was no room for them

in the inn.

Luke 2:7

The Child of Christmas

It was a cool night.

The sky, crystal clear,

Held a star so bright

It's heat

Warmed chilled hearts

And touched weary souls.

Under that star

A baby was born.

Wrapped against chill,

He slept in a manger

And in mother's arms.

Parents in Bethlehem

And Parents above

Gave him their love, and

Watched over him.

He was the gift

Promised by God.

A host of angels

Sent from above

Sang his arrival,

Joyous in countenance

Joyful in song:

"Glory to God in the highest,"

They sang,

"And on Earth,

Peace and good will toward men."
